Wine Tours

Did you know?

There are nearly 1,000 acres of grapes growing in Maryland, from the mountains of Garrett and Allegany through the sandy shores of the Eastern Shore and Southern Maryland.

We here in Maryland are incredibly lucky to have so many options for entertainment and Excursions nearly at our fingertips. No matter what direction you head towards there are plenty of great Maryland and Northern Virginia Wine Experiences to choose from. Maryland and the Northern Virginia is home so some of the most picturesque backdrops in which to see and experience firsthand and meet the people behind these magical elixirs. From the Western Wine Trails of Frederick and Carroll counties to the Eastern Shore and the Chesapeake Wine Trails and for each trail in between there are literally dozens of great wineries to see, taste and experience. So where do you start and how do you choose one?

If I were planning a Wine Tour or Winery Experience (which we do here every day) I would first select no more than 4 Wineries and really 2 to 3 is optimal for visiting in one half days tour. Too many wine stops and you may feel rushed and less likely to get the full benefit from learning about the Vineyard, their unique processes. Too many Winery stops and they all sort of run together and in my opinion, you lose the relaxation and tranquility of being able to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds while enjoying your favorite red or white wines.

Sit Back relax and enjoy the experience!

Utilizing a Ground Transportation company for a Wine Tasting or Wine tour is really the very best way to travel the added convenience and Safety of hiring a Wine Tour Company to get you to and from makes the event so much more relaxing and enjoyable. Bayside Limousines can help you plan a great Winery excursion from 2 to 32 passengers. We carry everything from economy class vans to the ultra-luxurious Limousine Party Coaches. No matter the size of the group or the budget we have a list of great options and solutions for you.

5 Helpful Tips to organize your Wine Tour Transportation

#1- Do I want Basic Style Transportation or Luxury Style transportation?
We carry plenty of different options when it comes to transportation. Some groups only care about the wine and having a clean safe ride to and from the Wineries with a designated driver. While other groups want the absolute very best of luxury, comfort and style. Either way we have a vehicle and a package that will fit every group and most every budget.

#2- How Many people are really on board?
Planning a wine day trip for friends and family to experience some of Maryland or Northern Virginia’s wonderful wineries is a great way to celebrate any occasion. We see many groups start out large and we watch the numbers dwindle over time due to changes in people’s busy schedules. Always book larger than you need but do expect that you will normally get a 30 percent attrition rate of cancellations on most groups.

#3 Keep the plan simple
Some of the best tours we do go to only a handful of places. Complex itineraries sometimes complicate the fun and enjoyment. Keep it simple!

#4 Don’t forget the Grub!
A day tasting wine is a great form of relaxation and fun! Just remember to get something on that stomach first! Plan food 1st and have some wonderful snacks/meals midway. Some wineries have some wonderful food available some have none! Know before you go!

#5 What times are best?
Most Wineries are really busy on Saturday Mid- days. Most open at 10am I always recommend earlier than better. Especially in the warmer months as the heat and consumption tends to dehydrate you and generate headaches and ill feelings. Always drink plenty of water, I usually recommend every other drink be water to help combat this! Check to see if some wineries are open on Sunday. Sunday is a great day to Experience a Wine tour with less crowds.
